Vriksha: Nurturing Talent, Securing Tomorrow
Vriksha, an initiative of Sharanalayam, supports academically gifted students who risk losing
their chance to pursue college due to financial challenges. We believe that education is not
just a pathway to a career – it is a pathway to dignity, confidence, and independence.
Through Vriksha, we offer structured financial assistance, mentorship, and emotional
support to children who would otherwise be forced to discontinue their education.
Our Story
Vriksha was created after witnessing students decline college admissions for fees. Their dreams were withering before they even had a chance to bloom. Realizing the urgency of
the need, Vriksha was created to “plant the seed of education” and help it grow into a strong,
empowered future. Today, Vriksha stands as a bridge connecting deserving students to
higher education through structured support and guidance.
Who we are
The Legacy of Sharanalayam
Founded in 2001 by Ms. Vanitha Rengaraj, Sharanalayam has been a sanctuary of hope and healing for over two decades.
Built on the foundation of care, dignity, and love, Sharanalayam is home to:
- Orphaned children
- Abandoned elderly
- Individuals with physical or mental challenges
Through holistic care, Sharanalayam has touched thousands of lives and continues to be recognized for its outstanding social service.
Vriksha was born as a natural extension of this mission – to support children beyond shelter, beyond school, and into their future.
